The Long Hall A fantastic bar, so much so that it’s listed inside (preservation order of the current interior). Dubliners trying to escape tourism tent to gravitate to here and therefore it gets very busy here at the weekends.
Where do you start with the interior? Try the amazingly ornate plaster ceiling for starters. Then the stained glass partitions, the old (now electrified) gas lamps or the two particularly unusual clocks behind the bar. Wherever you start – just take your time wondering around. The building is straddled by modern commerce. Everything on either side of the building was completely demolished to make way for the current glass building. The Long Hall stood firm and made a stand for heritage.
They pride themselves on the quality Guinness, another reason it so busy at the weekends.
