Farmleigh HouseFarmleigh was bought by the Government from the Guinness family in 1999 for nearly €30m. The building was restored over a period of years and is used as accommodation for visiting dignitaries and guests of our nation. It’s also used for public enjoyment with many events taking place there.
The house is on 79 acres of land to the north west of the Phoenix Park.
The house is yet another example of Dublin’s’ Georgian architecture. Aside from the house the grounds are a mix of Victorian and Edwardian influence. There is a walled garden, tree lined avenue, a clock tower, boat house and lake. Least we should forget: only 4km from the centre of Dublin’s, the estate is also a working farm with a magnificent heard of Kerry Black Cows.
