Iveagh GardensIf you need a place to escape, to sit and take a breath, then this is it. The Iveagh Gardens has been around since 1863 providing refuge to city dwellers. Originally part of the Iveagh Estate (Guinness people) it was a private park until the 90’s and the conservation of some of its features began in 1995.
It has a genuine “secret garden” effect to it and the hum of the city is barely audible in the park.
It has an amazing array of monuments, sunken gardens, fountains and flora (some of the rose in the park were planted in the late 19th century).
Take a break: Grab supplies locally and find a small plot of grass at lunch time to relax.
