Croke ParkCroke Park is the head quarters of the Gaelic Football Association, the body that governs Irelands Gaelic Games (Football, Hurling, Handball, Camogie). The stadium has a capacity of 82,300 people, the fourth largest stadium in Europe and on an all Ireland final day – it’s a capacity crowd. The site was originally purchased in 1864 and saw its first final in 1896. The new stadium began with the unveiling of the terraced portion “Hill 16” in 2005 and was fully finished three years later.
“Croker”, only entertained one code on the pitch for many years, opened its doors (temporarily) in 2007 to rugby whilst Lansdowne Road was being redeveloped.
The GAA Museum is a history of this very unique sport and Association. See full venue details and whatson around the area the http://whatsonin.ie/croke-park/
