TBCT are now inviting Instagram users to submit photos for this exhibition over the few weeks. The title of the exhibition ‘Your Photos, Your World Shared’ invites users to submit ‘instagrammed’ images of their personal perspectives from every day life.
Instagram is a photo sharing social network available as an application through the iPhone app store. It has a number of stylized filters so users can edit pictures and lets users share
their images with a network of followers. In December 2011, Instagram received the much coveted title of ’iPhone App of the Year‘ from Apple.
TBCT’s Online Community Manager Denise Rushe is excited about the exhibition “We’ve been using Instagram along with the hashtag #templebar to share images from the Temple Bar markets, the installation of the retractable canopy at Meeting House Square and events in The Culture Box during 2011. There is growing popularity for this photo-sharing social network and with a community of over 14 million people worldwide, instagram users have shared over 400 million images over this past year! We see images shared from foodies, musicians, photographers, as well as fans of iPhoneography. For this exhibition in February, we are using the hashtag #instatbct as part of the submission process.”
