The multiple Tony Award-winning ASSASSINS lays bare the lives of nine people who assassinated (or tried to assassinate) the President of the United States. The nation’s most notorious assassins gather on stage to violently pursue a twisted American Dream… Stephen Sondheim’s signature blend of intelligently stunning lyrics and beautiful music combine in this bold, original, disturbing, and alarmingly funny musical.

The Last Ship comes to Bord Gáis Energy Theatre as part of its first ever tour of the UK and Ireland Tour. Sting’s personal, political and passionate musical is an epic tale of community, hope and a great act of collective defiance. The Last Ship features an original score with music and lyrics by Sting. Gideon Fletcher, a sailor, returns home from sea to discover the ship-building life he left behind in chaos. The yard is closing and no one knows what will come next. With the engine fired and pistons in motion, picket lines are drawn as foreman Jackie (Jimmy Nail) and his wife Peggy fight to hold their community together in the face of the gathering storm. Music and lyrics by Sting. Directed by Lorne Campbell. Northern Stage in association with Karl Sydow and Kathryn Schenker.
For over 20 years, nothing has carried the energy, the sensuality and the spectacle of Riverdance. The worldwide phenomenon which is Riverdance began its journey as the interval act in the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest, produced for television by Moya Doherty. This electrifying and innovative seven minute dance piece was then developed into a full-length stage show by Producer Moya Doherty, Composer Bill Whelan and Director John McColgan. With its fusion of Irish and International music and dance, the show broke all box office records during its world première run in Dublin and has continued to set new records in packed theatres and arenas throughout the world. www.riverdance.com – Since 1995 Riverdance has played 11,500 performances and been seen live by over 25 million people in over 467 venues worldwide in 47 countries across 6 continents – Travelled 750,000 miles (or to the moon and back and back again!) – Played to a global television audience of 3 billion people – Sold over 3 million copies of the Grammy Award-winning CD and 10 million Riverdance videos & DVD
Having instantaneously sold out three consecutive nights in the Olympia Theatre last autumn, it is no surprise that the legendary American dance-rock band, LCD Soundsystem, returns to play these shores in the summer of 2018. Since they re-formed in 2015, LCD Soundsystem has toured extensively, releasing fourth album, American Dream, in September of 2017. This show at Malahide Castle will be the band’s largest headline show in Ireland to date, and you can expect to hear choice cuts from across the act’s entire career – from the barbed groove of Losing My Edge to the touching elegy of Someone Great. The musicians of LCD Soundsystem have a well-earned reputation as incredible live performers, and this outdoor concert is destined to be one of the shows of summer 2018.
Multi-platinum rapper/producer, G-Eazy has announced he will bring his The Beautiful & Damned Tour to Dublin’s Olympia Theatre on Tuesday 5th June, and now with an extra date on Wednesday 6th June added due to demand. With special guests Stefflon Don and Yung Pinch.
One of the top comedic voices of his generation, Bill Burr has today announced his return to Ireland with a date for Dublin’s 3Arena on 5th June 2018. Tickets go on sale Friday 9 March at 9am from usual outlets. Bill Burr is an American comedian or a comedian from the North American Union, depending on when you read this. He grew up outside of Boston, Massachusetts and did fairly poorly in school, despite the fact that he applied himself. Having first gained notoriety for his recurring role on the second season of Chappelle’s Show, Bill developed a comedic style of uninformed logic that has made him a regular with Conan O’Brien and Jimmy Fallon. In 2018, Bill will be seen in the film, The Front Runner, starring Hugh Jackman and later this year, the third season of Bill’s hit animated Netflix series, F Is For Family, will premiere featuring Bill, Laura Dern and Justin Long as the Murphy family. The second season premiered on May 30, 2017, and the first season premiered on December 18, 2015. Bill’s fifth hour-long stand-up special, Walk Your Way Out, premiered on Netflix on January 31, 2017. The special was shot on October 21, […]
Avenged Sevenfold (sometimes abbreviated as A7X) is an American heavy metal band from Huntington Beach, California, formed in 1999. The band’s current lineup consists of lead vocalist M. Shadows, rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist Zacky Vengeance, lead guitarist and backing vocalist Synyster Gates, bassist and backing vocalist Johnny Christ, and drummer Brooks Wackerman. Avenged Sevenfold is known for its diverse rock sound and dramatic imagery in album covers and merchandise. Avenged Sevenfold emerged with a metalcore sound on the band’s debut Sounding the Seventh Trumpet. However, Avenged Sevenfold’s style had evolved by the band’s third album and first major label release, City of Evil, into a heavy metal and hard rock style. The band continued to explore new sounds with its self-titled release and enjoyed continued mainstream success before their drummer, James “The Rev” Sullivan, died in 2009. Despite his death, Avenged Sevenfold continued on with the help of now-former Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy, and released and toured in support of its fifth album Nightmare in 2010, which debuted on the top spot of the Billboard 200, Avenged Sevenfold’s first number one debut. In 2011 drummer Arin Ilejay joined the band on tours and recording. Avenged Sevenfold’s sixth studio […]
