The play follows the efforts of Dicky Mick Dicky O Connor to make matches for the lonely and lovelorn.  Keane, an avid observer of people and the cultures that bind and create their view of the world uses “The Matchmaker” as an exploration of rural loneliness. Aware that generations of people became masters of their own destinies late in life, and only then began to look for companionship and love, once their duties as minder of aging parents were concluded or they had finally inherited, or were the left over brother or sister. Delorentos’ determined rise has been a wonderful (and, at times, tortuous) chaos – break-ups, labels collapsing, reformations and critical awards, worldwide tours and packed houses from Mexico City to Moscow. In a world where so much emphasis is placed on “brand new” they continue to revel in writing albums and playing live shows that are ever more passionate, raw and exciting! The band’s 5th studio album ‘True Surrender’ will be released on Friday 27th April 2018. The album was written, arranged, recorded, mixed and honed over a chaotic three-year period of bilocation, the birth of children and a heightened level of personal and professional anxiety – not to mention all of the usual trials and tribulations of the creative process and the artistic battles that are par for the course. Songs were written, stripped back to their core and rebuilt with new instrumentation, new meaning and a constant, fervent desire to pour their hearts and souls into every bar of music. Ultimately, True Surrender is the band’s most evolved, emotive and affecting collection of songs so far. The tell-tale sound of a classic 4-piece guitar band is still there in parts, but that sound has been developed, mixed, melded and […]

Rich Hall’s critically acclaimed new show Hoedown begins its second leg of touring. There has never been a better time to be an American comedian in the UK. Hall’s precision dismantling of the tenuous relationship between two countries is as freewheeling and deadly accurate as ever. His BBC Four documentaries, most recently Rich Hall’s Countrier Than You and Rich Hall’s Presidential Grudge Match, and BBC Radio 4 series Rich Hall’s (US Election) Breakdown have built him a new legion of followers, as has appearances on Have I Got News for You and QI. But if you’ve only ever seen Hall on TV, you’ve short-changed yourself. The Hoedown begins as a withering dissection of Trump’s America, but ends up being a celebration of Americana. There’s stand-up, improvised ballads, cracking good musicianship, and ultimately a hilarious, foot-stomping, sh*t-kicking good time to be had by all… even if you don’t own a hoe.

First performed in Paris in 1840, GISELLE is universally considered the world’s most romantic ballets. The story revolves around a peasant girl, Giselle, who dies of a broken heart after discovering that her lover is betrothed to another. Her cause is taken up by The Willis, a group of mystic and supernatural spirits of maiden girls, who obtain revenge by literally dancing men to death. Led by Myrtha, The Queen if the Willis, they are ruthless and hateful of men because they have all themselves died of a broken heart. Queen Myrtha summons Giselle from her grave and they target Giselle’s lover for death, but Giselle’s great love eventually frees him from their grasp. The Tchaikovsky Perm State Ballet’s traditional production, sympathetically accompanied by the wonderful RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra to Adolphe Adam’s original score, will leave a lasting impression. This is one of the truly great ballets!

Fourth album ‘High As Hope’ already has the feel of a career-defining moment for Florence, venturing into new territory as much as it reaches back to one’s roots. A recent show at London’s Royal Festival Hall was greeted with a series of 5-star reviews, in which Florence also teased further new material for the first time (“one of the most thrilling shows of the year,” The Times; “a euphoric return by a singular talent,” The Telegraph; “a towering performer twists back with power and poetry,” Evening Standard”). Florence + the Machine opens for The Rolling Stones at the London Stadium today

Björn Again was created and founded by Rod Stephen (director and musician) in 1988 in Melbourne, Australia. Seen as a light-hearted satirical parody of ABBA and a brand in its own right, the show rapidly achieved cult status. Rod’s production company based in North London employs top class professional performers having done over 10,000 shows in 70 countries in 25 years. With good wishes from ABBA’s blonde vocalist Agnetha Fältskog the ultimate aim, as always for Rod, is to keep his iconic brand at the top and continue for as long as people want to hear ABBA’s songs performed only the way Björn Again does them. Björn Again.com personnel are comprised from a pool of performers from throughout the Northern Hemisphere who are overseen by Rod who often plays Bass guitar and sings with onstage. Having been acknowledged by Björn Ulvaeus as being the show that single-handedly initiated the ABBA revival in the late 1980s and early 1990s, the Björn Again show is hailed as the most popular and successful show of its type.
