Avoca and Malahide Castle are very proud to work with Wicklow-based charity The Gavin Glynn Foundation, Avoca’s new charity partners. The Gavin Glynn Foundation helps families of children battling cancer to travel overseas for treatment not available in Ireland, and believes that all children with cancer deserve the best care, wherever in the world that might be.

The foundation was established when 18 month old Gavin Glynn was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. After extensive chemotherapy here in Ireland, due to his very young age Gavin had to be taken to Switzerland where they specialise in the precision radiation treatment he needed. Gavin’s family had to move to Switzerland for over two months, with friends and family of the Glynn’s raising over €16,000 to cover the cost of the travel and treatment for Gavin.
