Chinnery Gin and Friends of the Chester Beatty Library are delighted to welcome George Chinnery biographer and East Asian art specialist Dr Patrick Conner for a talk on the artist that inspired the gin. The event will include a gin-tasting with Chinnery Spirits distiller David Havelin, followed by a talk by Dr Conner, who will detail the life and art of the Georgian-era portrait artist who started his career in Dublin, before setting sail for China. Chinnery’s work from the era is considered an important part of the historical record of the Old China Trade.
Tickets are available to Friends of the Chester Beatty Library through the website, and non-Friends can purchase tickets by calling Sabhbh onĀ 01-4070759.
