Writer and artist Mary Moynihan is in conversation with renowned human rights defender Mary Lawlor about the vital role of defending human rights today. Drawing on Lawlor’s decades of experience, the discussion explores challenges, resilience and hope in the continuing struggle for justice, dignity and freedom. Mary Lawlor has dedicated her career to defending the rights of people around the world. She formerly served as the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights defenders and is a former Director and Chair of Amnesty International Ireland and a founder and former Director of Front Line Defenders, the international organisation dedicated to protecting human rights defenders at risk worldwide.
