India Day 2019

India Day 2019

The Ireland India Council developed India Day event in Ireland through a collaborative partnership with Office of Public Works (OPW), An Garda Síochána, Embassy of India, Indian community and stakeholders including local governments, non-profits, academia, and private sector like Bank of Ireland.
A vital component of this Initiative is developing an Irish-Indian partnership between our communities, private and public sector that will serve as the framework for the cordial and cohesive relationship between Indian and indigenous Irish society to learn each other’s culture and traditions.
We have received tremendous support in establishing India Day from Mr Seán Ó Fearghaíl the 19th Ceann Comhairle (Speaker) of Irish Parliament, An Taoiseach Mr Leo Varadkar and Mr Enda Kenny. Tánaiste Ms Frances Fitzgerald and Ms Joan Burton and Ambassadors of India in Ireland Mrs Radhika Lokesh and Mrs Vijay Thakur Singh, Leader of Labour Party Mr Brendan Howlin and members of Ireland-India Parliamentary Friendship Group among many dignitaries and celebrities, came forward to celebrate freedom and Irish-Indian friendship at India Day celebrations.
