International Tango Festival

Instituto Cervantes joins Compadrito Tango and the theatre company Teatro Emigrato to celebrate this year’s International Tango Festival in Ireland. As a starter we propose a show that will bring together the poetry of the Chilean Pablo Neruda and Argentine music, in particular tango dancing. As the main course, why not learning the first steps of this elegant dance in a workshop for beginners?
If tango revolutionised popular dance introducing a sensual choreography with a partner, we could say that it is also one of the better known and most familiar dances and music worldwide. In 2009, it was declared UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
