
ISLA, Irish, Spanish and Latin American Literary Festival
The Instituto Cervantes in Dublin is excited to bring ISLA: the Irish, Spanish and Latin American Literary Festival, back to live audiences.
This 11th year of the ISLA Festival, Navigating Futures, will include a concert, guided tours and workshops and literary discussions with Irish writer John Banville and her translator into Spanish, Nuria Barrios, the poet Moya Cannon, the Peruvian Alonso Cueto and his Irish translator into English, Frank Wynne, or the Colombian Cristina Bendek, among others.
Authors from Argentina, Chile, Cuba and Mexico will also participate in this three-day event to reflect on the importance of translation as part of the literary creative process.
The Instituto Cervantes in Dublin is the cultural wing of the Spanish Embassy in Ireland and an active educational and cultural hub open to everyone.
ISLA is possible thanks to the joint effort of the Instituto Cervantes Dublin, the Embassy of Spain, the Embassy of the Republic of Argentina, the Embassy of Chile, the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba, Embassy of Colombia, Embassy of Mexico, Embassy of Peru, Dublin UNESCO City of Literature, the Trinity Centre for Literary and Cultural Translation, with the support of RTÉ Supporting the Arts.
