New night Max’s Lounge continues on the last Friday of every month at The United Arts Club, Dublin. After a fantastic and sold-out launch night featuring guests Mundy and Alice Jago, Max Greenwood will again host at the piano, this time with Very Special Guests Gerr Walsh and Mary Barnecutt, continuing the show’s relaxed evenings of themed live music, chats and stories about the songs they love.
Irish Indie Folk artist Gerr Walsh releases his next single, ‘When The Stars Don’t Work’ on 21st February. Known for evocative, cinematic songs, a string of recent singles have received good airplay across different radio shows. Gerr is currently in the final stages of completing his next album, slated for release in September 2025. “Beautifully hypnotic songs” Fiachna O’Braoinán RTE Radio.
Cellist and songwriter Mary Barnecutt combines insight, humour and literary lyrical approaches in unique songs on her albums Like Water & Into Air – “A surprise and absolute pleasure.” Tony Clayton-Lea, “Organic, magical.” Lauren Murphy, Irish Times ****. Mary arranges music for film, theatre and dance and collaborated with artists such as Amanda Coogan, Justine Doswell, Adrian Crowley, Ruth O’Mahony Brady and Ray Harman. She is curator of the Sundays at Noon concert series in the Hugh Lane Gallery and co-director of Spike, the bi-annual cello festival held in Dublin.
From Nottingham, 20 years based in Dublin, Max Greenwood is known for his poetic, soulful, and jazz-influenced songwriting style, led by a delicate and expansive touch on the piano, featured on critically acclaimed albums of his own, and on records with others, including co-writes with Grammy-nominated and MOBO award-winning artists. On 21st March he releases debut single Fragile from his upcoming album Hymns. “Don’t miss him Live” **** Irish Times.
