RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra in March
Jaime Martin returns to conduct the RTÉ NSO on Friday 9 with pianist Javier Perianes who is soloist for Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G. The programme also features Nielsen’s 7 pieces from Aladdin & Sibelius’s Symphony No. 5 in E flat major.
Violin star, no stranger to the NCH stage, Alina Pogostkina is soloist for Khachaturian’s Violin Concert in D minor on Friday 23. The Russian theme continues with Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 1 in F minor and the orchestra open the programme with Copland’s ballet score Appalachian Spring.
On Friday 30, Good Friday, the RTÉ NSO, RTÉ Philharmonic Choir & soloists perform one of the most magnificent and moving of all choral works, Bach’s St John Passion, the compelling re-telling of the events leading up to Christ’s crucifixion
