After a six-year break from doing stand-up, Rhod Gilbert is hitting the road in 2019 with a huge new tour, The Book of John.

Born in Wales, Gilbert first got into professional comedy back in 2002 after he participated in the Amused Moose Stand and Deliver course.

After winning several talent competitions and in 2005, he did his first solo show at Edinburgh Fringe Festival called 1984. Gilbert has since completed numerous of tours around the UK as well as appeared multiple times at Edinburgh Fringe.

Along with touring, the comedian has carved himself a career in television and radio. He’s been on a variety of different TV shows such as Mock of the Week, Have I Got News For You?, 8 Out of 10 Cats, QI and Would I Lie to You? Gilbert has hosted BBC’s Live at the Apollo many times and was the former host of Never Mind the Buzzcocks. Currently, he hosts BBC2’s The Apprentice: You’re Fired!
