Taking place from the 7th- 14th November, our live, interactive family workshops will explore topics like Drone Technology + Inventing, Light and Projection by making your own Cyanotype Sun Prints and DIY Camera Obscuras  and Fashion Upcycling by making  DIY Glowing Lanterns and Sustainable Crafts inspired by the Seashore.

On Thursday November 11th at 19:30 meet the food producers of the future in a special one hour live broadcast with Karen O’Donoghue founder of The Happy Tummy Co along with Mescan Brewery’s Cillian Ó Móráin as we delve into a big discussion on the future of food, farming, and the enormous impact of the seemingly simple choices we make every day.

We also have a series of free on-demand activities for families including virtual visits to Dublin Zoo & The National Botanic Garden’s of Ireland, audio adventures from Branar Téatar do Pháistí and a playful workshop by cardboard wizard Lottie Smith.

This year we are also delighted to be supporting the Creating our Future campaign by including a 15 minute brainstorm in all of our live workshops to get the conversation started on how anyone, anywhere can have a great idea which can help inspire future research in Ireland.

Science Week is a week-long event in Ireland each November, celebrating science in our everyday lives. Taking place in 2021 from November 7th to 14th the programme includes workshops, science shows, talks, laboratory demonstrations, science walks, and other science-related events.
