History has been made! The coveted ‘five-in-a-row’ was finally claimed by the mighty Dublin Senior Men’s Gaelic Football team followed by a ‘three-in-a-row victory’ for the Dublin Ladies Gaelic Football team.
Dublin city is still in awe of these great sporting champions and it is with enormous pride that the Lord Mayor invites all Dublin fans to unite for ‘The Homecoming’ on Sunday September 29th from 1.30pm to 4.30pm in Merrion Square.
The Homecoming, presented by Dublin City Council, will feature live performances from Keywest and Eoin Thomas & The Rising Sons, followed by interviews with former Dublin football stars hosted by Marty Morrissey, a specially commissioned video of Dublin wins from 1891 to 2018, highlights from both the ladies and the men’s matches and live on stage the victorious, all-conquering Dublin teams and staff.
This is a victory for two great teams, and with them in mind, and following consultation with the Dublin County Board and the Dublin Ladies Gaelic Association, it was agreed that Sunday the 29th was the best date to celebrate.
Lord Mayor of Dublin Paul Mc Auliffe said “The Homecoming will be full of colour and excitement and an opportunity for Dublin fans to reunite and relive sporting history with their heroes”
