The Politics of Disgust

Play Not Funny’s The Politics of Disgust will be performed in Bewley’s Café Theatre as part of Dublin Fringe Festival.

We’ve had some complaints. You are apparently “underperforming, unlovable and indecent”. You are, frankly, “really easy to hate”.

We have a lot to unpack here. God may have deserted you, but HR Queens Susyan Pork (with a Y) and Susan Beanz (with a Z) haven’t.

Armed with markers, Post-it notes and some truly severe haircuts, the pair embark on an increasingly unhinged attempt to teach audiences how to spot propaganda, interrogate the politics of disgust and survive their increasingly absurd reality.

Part-political education, part-theatrical breakdown and part-emergency workplace intervention, The Politics of Disgust asks what happens when disgust stops being merely a feeling and becomes a political tool; and whether we can laugh our way through the mess.

Developed at Scene+Heard: The Festival of New Work 2026 and Dublin Fringe Festival’s FRINGE LAB, The Politics of Disgust is a darkly comic, anarchic theatre experience written and performed by Constance Henry and Niall Keane, aka drag queens Sasha Shame and GoblinsGoblinsGoblins.
