An evening of piano, pain and laughter with the inimitable Amanda Palmer.

Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark, one of the UK’s most iconic bands, are back with their first new album in 14 years, the appropriately entitled ‘History Of Modern’. And what a return. Andy McCluskey has called it ‘our best album since Architecture and Morality’ – and few would disagree. The album was produced by OMD and mixed by one of the UK’s most in demand producers Mike Crossey (Artic Monkeys/Blood Red Shoes/Razorlight). ‘History of Modern’ is a powerful, pulsating, vibrant and contemporary album with a strong pop sensibility. Tracks such as ‘Pulse’, ‘Save Me’, ‘Sister Marie Says’ and ‘The Future’ are huge future dancefloor fillers while others like the downtempo ‘Bondage Of Fate’, ‘If You Want It’ and ‘Sometimes’ are quite simply beautiful, classic OMD songs.

Since emerging in 2012, singer, songwriter, and producer Blackbear has released alt-R&B albums Deadroses , Digital Druglord , and Cybersex — each extolling the pleasures of sex, drugs, and luxury consumerism. His streaming hits, the platinum-selling “Idfc” and the double-platinum “Do Re Mi” (“Do Re Mi, I’m so fucking done with you girl”), further established the 28-year-old. Blackbear is no musical lightweight. He’s an effortless songwriter with a keen ear for melody, a knack for distilling complicated ideas into tight, precise lyrical spaces, and a relentless perfectionist who prizes technical excellence as a producer and mixer. Aside from his own prolific output of singles and EPs, Blackbear earned his bones working with the likes of Pharrell Williams, Nick Jonas, Childish Gambino, Linkin Park, and — most notably — Justin Bieber, for whom he co-wrote the 6x-platinum single “Boyfriend” with his friend and Mansionz collaborator Mike Posner. A savvy entrepreneur, who also runs his own label, Beartrap Sound, Blackbear became the first recording artist ever to monetize his own Soundcloud.

At the end of the 1970s momentous change was afoot in Britain and the world – in society, politics, fashion and culture – and the musical landscape was also about to change forever. The guitar-driven dominance that had propelled rock and punk throughout the decade was about to end, as synthesizers signalled the sound of the future and video transformed the look of the pop charts. The 1980s were about to explode into life and nothing would be the same again. At the heart of this seismic leap into a futuristic new dawn were two records that set the template for much of what was to follow. Visage’s single ‘Fade To Grey’ from the band’s debut eponymous album and Ultravox’s single ‘Vienna’ from the album of the same name were global hits that shared the same stark ambience, European aesthetic and electronic heart. The albums that birthed those landmark singles expanded that sonic palette even further and brought the art-school alternative into the very centre of the mainstream.

MARINA will also make festival rounds this summer including performances at Boston Calling, Benicassim in Spain and Latitude in the UK. Further European tour dates are yet to be announced.Under 14’s must be accompanied by an adult. Standing tickets are recommended only for those over 14 years of age. Over 18’s ID required to gain access to the bars where alcohol is served.

Think of a beautiful tapestry with many vibrant colours. Think Blues, Soul & Jazz. This is the stunning voice of Niamh Strong. Born into the entertainment business, her father Rob Strong is the legendary Blues performer, and brother Andrew Strong was Decco Cuff in The Commitments. Niamh first lifted a microphone at the tender age of 9 when her father was jamming with other musicians, astonishing everyone in the room with an impressive blues run. There and then, it was obvious this little girl had natural talent. Niamh joined her band The Three at 18 and penned several original songs. Four of these songs were selected for her first demo. John Polinsky, a musical lawyer from New York, heard this demo and arranged two showcases in New York in Arlene’s Grocery Store and the Cutting Rooms. Several A&R people from different major record labels attended the showcases which were a huge success. Niamh finally decided to go with Robert E. Pineda from Ray Charles’ company. She was brought to Los Angeles to record one of the original songs and shoot a video. Blues Legend Ray Charles described Niamh as having “moments of genius in her voice.” Niamh returned home to […]

Brought together in Stockholm by guitarists Peter Lindgren and Mikael Åkerfeldt in 1990, Opeth added progressive influences and acoustic instrumentation to their brand of Swedish death metal. As the group progressed, it was very common for an Opeth live set to fly in several different musical directions — and an average song lasted no less than ten minutes. Impressed by their originality, Candlelight Records released their debut full-length in 1995, which was titled Orchid, and featured a rhythm section of bassist Johan de Farfalla and drummer Anders Nordin. Edge of Sanity mastermind Dan Swano produced the band’s ambitious second album, Morningrise, in 1996, after which they embarked on a brief tour with Morbid Angel. Century Media took notice and not only licensed Opeth’s first two albums for the United States, but also planned on releasing their next album on both sides of the Atlantic. With the recruitment of bassist Martin Mendez and drummer Martin Lopez (ex-Amon Amarth) to replace the departed de Farfalla and Nordin, Opeth’s third album, My Arms, Your Hearse, was released in 1998 to glowing reviews, establishing the band as a leading force in progressive metal with death roots.

‘Animal’ heralds another new chapter in the story of AURORA, the leftfield pop musician who seemingly fell from the forests of her native Bergen with her inclusive stories of nature and nurture, love, longing and loss. ‘Animal’ follows last year’s surprise release of ‘Infections Of A Different Kind – Step 1’ in the Autumn, which sated her sprawling, fervent global fanbase, and acted as a tantalising taster to a very busy 2019 of new music and touring. ‘Animal’ features a veritable slew of gold star producers including the ‘My Riot’ production team of Tim Bran and Roy Kerr (London Grammar, Primal Scream), Magnus Skylstad and AURORA herself. It was recorded out in Norway around the ‘Infections…’ sessions, but withheld by way of introduction to a series of brand new releases for 2019.

Snarky Puppy is a collective of sorts with as many as 25 members in regular rotation. They each maintain busy schedules as sidemen (with such artists as Erykah Badu, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, and D’Angelo), producers (for Kirk Franklin, David Crosby, and Salif Keïta), and solo artists (many of whom are on the band’s indy label, GroundUP Music). At its core, the band represents the convergence of both black and white American music culture with various accents from around the world. Japan, Argentina, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Puerto Rico all have representation in the group’s membership. But more than the cultural diversity of the individual players, the defining characteristic of Snarky Puppy’s music is the joy of performing together in the perpetual push to grow creatively.

Electric Six has often used The Devil as subject matter for its songs because of that last bit, the part about corruption and adulteration. That’s what Electric Six has been trying to do with its music now for quite some time!!!! We want to corrupt young women….just like The Devil!!! There’s nothing more rewarding than the seduction of a young innocent maiden, forcing her to wear demonic dresses, levitating her towards the great fiery skull and watching her eyes turn black as she gives into evil and becomes the bride of The Devil!!!! That….is why we started this band….to help women realize their potential as sexy evil maidens with eyes reflecting the utter darkness of a corrupted soul.

Alec Benjamin simply refers to himself as a “narrator.” Inspired by Eminem, Paul Simon, and Citizen Cope, the Phoenix-born, Los Angeles-based songwriter fashioned a cinematic, lo-fi sound that stirred up a buzz online right out of the gate, landing him a major label deal by the age of 18. A day after he turned in his first album, he was dropped by the label he thought would take his artist project to the moon. However, it was going to take a lot more to stop him. Alec immediately hit the road for a self-booked European tour in May 2016. He performed “parking lot shows” for fans outside of Shawn Mendes and Troye Sivan concerts, handing out business cards to leave a tangible keepsake for those listening and building his brand from the ground up.

Björk announces the European premiere of Cornucopia with 8 upcoming shows including 3Arena on 28 November 2019. The show is created and produced by Björk, with music co-produced by Arca, and the staging directed by film director Lucrecia Martel. The digital visuals are by media artist Tobias Gremmler, co-creative.

A conceptual album presented across three chapters, ‘III’ is audacious: every note, every syllable, and every moment of silence in between is emotionally charged. The album is darker in tone anything they’ve done before, with each part centering on one main character from a fictitious family known as The Sparks, who span three generations in the album’s storyline. Mixing raw emotional themes with their ear-catching melodies, expressive vocals and trademark acoustic sound, ‘III’ moves masterly in artistic directions not yet travelled by the band. Written by the two founding members, Wesley Schultz and multi-instrumentalist Jeremiah Fraites, the album sees violinist/vocalist Lauren Jacobson officially joining the band, after playing on their previous two albums. Lauren completes the touring lineup that includes pianist Stelth Ulvang, bassist/backing vocalist Byron Isaacs and multi-instrumentalist Brandon Miller.

“A lot of this new record was written in transit,” says Eoin French, the Irish artist better known as Talos. “Being away from the safety of my home and my studio allowed me to really take the shackles off and create in a different way. It was a terrifying feeling sometimes, but it was also really rewarding.”While Talos will always be deeply connected to his native Ireland, his stunning sophomore album, ‘Far Out Dust,’ draws on a far wider perspective, melding tracks written and recorded in New York, Los Angeles, London, Dublin, Cork, and Reykjavik. The influence of the unknown runs deep here, invigorating French’s haunting blend of organic and electronic music with a gorgeous sense of discovery and wonder. But where Talos’ acclaimed debut, ‘Wild Alee,’ was a solitary affair about isolation and escape, ‘Far Out Dust’ finds French and his longtime production partner, Ross Dowling (James Vincent McMorrow, Bell X1), branching out to explore new sounds and spaces, teaming up with a slew of collaborators including producers Doug Schadt (Maggie Rogers, Wet) and Valgeir Sigurðsson (Sigur Ros, Feist), drummer Ian Chang (Son Lux), and mixer Damian Taylor (Bjork, Arcade Fire).
