Lana Del Rey is an American singer-songwriter born in 1986 in Lake Placid, New York. Her debut single, Video Games, launched her into the public eye in 2011, becoming a huge viral hit when the video she produced received over 20 million hits online. The album that followed, Born To Die, was one of the best-selling albums of the year worldwide and included top 10 hits such as Blue Jeans and Summertime Sadness. Del Rey’s musical influences range from Frank Sinatra and Elvis to Bob Dylan and Eminem, and her own style is one that is hard to pinpoint. With a jazzy voice and often cinematic, atmospheric music, she is at times reminiscent of Hollywood from the Golden Era, but this classic style is enthused with the modern beats of hip hop, giving Del Rey a unique and instantly recognisable style all of her own.

orn on St. Patrick’s Day and hailing from County Wicklow, Hozier was raised on the building blocks of popular music: rhythm and blues, soul, jazz and the deep dark stuff stretching from Chicago to the Delta. He joined his first band when he was 15 years old, fronting a soul band with some older heads. Hozier taught himself to play guitar and piano, and went to Trinity College to study music. However, four years looked like a long stretch, particularly when the goal was to write, record and perform his own music, so he dropped out to concentrate his talents on the creative process. Hozier’s first release was a four-track EP in 2014 that featured his five-time platinum hit Take Me to Church. He followed this up in 2016 with the single Cherry Wine, raising awareness of domestic violence. Following the release of Hozier’s Nina Cried Power EP earlier this month, he’ll be hitting the road this December for a string of new live UK shows.

The first is his 1986 release, ‘Into The Light’, which Chris had shrewdly envisaged could be the record that might place him fully centre stage as an international artist – and so it proved, thanks to one song in particular: ‘The Lady In Red’. Electric Six has often used The Devil as subject matter for its songs because of that last bit, the part about corruption and adulteration. That’s what Electric Six has been trying to do with its music now for quite some time!!!! We want to corrupt young women….just like The Devil!!! That….is why we started this band….to help women realize their potential as sexy evil maidens with eyes reflecting the utter darkness of a corrupted soul.
